Our Standard Black Bumper plates are Olympic weightlifting plates that are made of thick, hard virgin rubber and are generally used in various professional weight lifting competitions. They are highly durable, and are designed to so that a loaded bar can be safely dropped from above head height without risk of damaging the plates themselves, the lifting platform and the floor. The advantage of bumpers is safety for the lifter and longevity for the equipment.
